ART PLAY: GEL PLATE + HANDMADE STENCILS online (live) Friday, July 21, 12 noon - 1pm EST $20 Making gel plate prints is exhilarating, addictive, and fun. And using hand-cut stencils adds a really personal twist to basic stencil-printing techniques. I'm hosting a one-hour session of Art Play and the theme will be Gel Plate (Printing) + Handmade Stencils. I will walk you through cutting your own stencils from easily-found materials before we use them to make wonderful layered prints. These may be so lovely that you don't want to cut them up, but they make wonderful collage paper (I'll leave you with some easy and fun gel plate print collage ideas, too.) You can join me for an hour of play or you may also choose to just watch and listen to me live online, and watch the recording later. I'll send a link to the recording after class as well as to a website with the images that I share in class. You'll need a gel plate (aka gelli plate), a brayer/roller, some acrylic paint, and some non-fancy paper. I'll send a materials list at least a week before class and this workshop is good for all levels.
